You can see the real examples of successful work of the KTL LED equipment used as effective system of electrical supplemental lighting for plants and seedlings. Experiments with this promising development have been conducted since 2008, and today it is time for implementation of this technology on a mass basis in greenhouses.

The LED module «Ruby-75»
The LED module «Ruby-75» is designed for highly-efficient supplemental lighting for plants. Power consumption is 75W, light power is 35W. Useful equivalent of a sodium gas-discharge lamp is 240W in power consumption.

The supplemental lighting for cucumbers under the KTL LED fixtures
The experiment was conducted in 2011. «SHP Agroinductriya Ltd», the city of Orenburg. The cucumbers were planted on the area of 300 m2, in three zones of supplemental lighting: the KTL LEDs (30 W/m2), sodium lamps (120 W/m2) and the combined area (78 W/m2 = lamps 63 W/m2 + the LEDs 15 W/m2).

The supplemental lighting for cucumbers under the KTL LED fixtures
«SHP Agroindustriya Ltd», the city of Orenburg. December 15, 2011. On the 45th day the beginning of fruitage is observed. Weight of one fruit is 210 gm, length is 22 cm. The LEDs opened new horizons on reduction of energy consumption for supplemental lighting, at the same time maintaining crop yields.

After installation of the LEDs 24 W/m2 and 3-day supplemental lighting (the LEds had been working from 5:00 till 1:00, 20 hours) — the leaf had changed its color for bright-green (i.e. chlorosis had disappeared), and younger and stronger shoots had appeared. March 27, 2014. After 3-week supplemental lighting (24 hours a day) – chlorosis had fully disappeared on the leaves, which had changed their colour to dark-green, area of one leaf of such rose kinds as WoW and Filia had reached 80 cm2 (11ő8). Growth rapidity of the shoots had increased, the features of the shoots had considerably improved (the stem thickness, arrangement up to 30 cm from the initial 50-60 cm). Eichhornia is an floating aquatic plant, the above-water part of which consists of leaves and a flower (water hyacinth). Eichhornia is used for production of biogas which includes up to 75% of methane. Fertilizes and feeds for animals and birds can be made from eichhornia.

Experiments in Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy had shown a good result in growing eichhornia under the KTL LED lamps. Each two weeks the plant had increased its mass in 7 times.

The plants were supplementary lighted under the KTL LED modules with a specific power consumption 75 W/m2. At the same time, another area was supplementary lighted under sodium lamps «Reflux» with a specific power consumption 280 W/m2.
